Dear Valued Family Service Clients and Supporters:

COVID19 (novel coronavirus) has set in motion a chain of events unparalleled in our lifetime. Family Service has been monitoring the flood of information coming from the CDC, federal and state governments as well as our local partner agencies. Our focus has been on making decisions that are in the best interest of our clients, employees and the overarching mission of the agency.  After much consideration, Family Service has made a bold and decisive decision for the health and well-being of all clients and employees. We are moving to a telehealth model of service delivery effective Monday, March 23, 2020.

  • Telehealth sessions will be provided to all clients via telephone or select video conferencing methods

  • In-person sessions will no longer be routinely offered at any of our offices beginning March 23rd and for the foreseeable future

  • The C.A.R.E. Center located at the Big Yellow House will remain strategically operational

  • Groups sessions and classes are on an indefinite hold due to a moratorium on certain size gatherings

  • The main office in Waukesha will be staffed to accept phone calls from 9am to 5pm Monday – Thursday

  • On-call services during off hours will continue without disruption

  • Services will be billed as they were previously with no additional burden to clients

  • People wishing to begin services will be placed on a list and contacted when we are able to conduct new client in-takes.

At Family Service, we are committed to the well-being of individuals, families and the community. We recognize that stressors related to this global health crisis can impact our ability to care for ourselves and the ones we love. If you need assistance during this time, please call us at 262-547-5567 during our business hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday. We can guide you to resources available within Family Service and the greater community.

Be well,

Allison Katula

Every Age, Every Stage of Life -
We’re Here to Help

Family Service is an independent, non-profit counseling center that provides state-of-the-art psychotherapy, education, and advocacy services to anyone needing help at any age or stage of life.

Founded in 1964 by Judge Clair Voss, Family Service’s goal is to improve the quality of individual, family, and community life. We know that mental and emotional health is the basis for confident individuals, good parents, happy children, strong families, and productive communities.

A Range of Mental Health & Wellness Services

Mental health problems present themselves in many ways. So do we. Traditional counseling and therapy. Parenting classes and coaching. Integrated psychotherapy. Credit counseling. Abuse prevention. School-based clinics. Medical evaluations. Family advocacy. At Family Service, we know that mental health challenges don’t appear in just one way, so we try to appear in any way we can to help.

Helping You Find a Way to a Healthy & Fulfilling Life

In our homes. In our schools. In our offices. Even in our beds. No matter where you go, you can’t escape what’s always there. That’s why mental health and wellness counseling is so important - because there’s no getting away from what’s inside your head. At Family Service, we understand that life doesn’t stop for the problems you are facing, in fact, it often revolves around them. We’re here to provide the therapy, education and support you need to get your world spinning around healthy relationships, education, work and life once again.
